A Supper, Some Snow, and a Shade of Orange

Winter has arrived here in South Korea.  This past week, we saw our first snow and temps in the teens and twenties during the day.  BRRRRR!   It is quite a lot to get used when you are used to the fairly warm winters of Georgia and Texas.  As I am writing this post, there is still snow on the ground from last Wed.  Dave and I haven't had the joy of that since 2002 in Wyoming.

Before we get to the snow pictures, I have to share with you a few pics of my WONDERFUL kids.  They cooked supper this week and I am very proud of them for working together and not burning down the kitchen.

Now onto the SNOW!   As you can imagine, the kids were bouncing off the walls with excitement over the snow.  So I have a lot of pics to share in that regard.

The kids and I also attended to the tree lighting ceremony on Camp Casey.  It was a warm 14 degrees for the event and we about froze our patooties off, but I am glad we went.  We got to hear the 2nd Infantry Band play some Christmas carols and see Santa arrive on a fire truck.

That is about all that we did this week because Mitchell and Darci were both sick at one point or another and we stayed home a lot.  We did manage to go to LotteMart this weekend so I have a couple of ODD Korea pics for you.

There you have it...Week 40 in Korea.  I can't believe its been 40 weeks.  And in 2 more, it will be Christmas.  So I am going to leave you now to go enjoy some Christmas cartoons with my kiddos.  I hope you are all having a wonderful Christmas time.  And although its not a professional one, here is our family Christmas picture.

The Patrol, The Cake, and The Crazy Christmas Elf

Hey guys!  Sorry I am getting this posted a day later than usual.  I took Monday night off to watch a little Charlie Brown Christmas with the family.  I am enjoying the holiday spirit and I hope you are too.

Last week was pretty easy week for us.  The kids and I went to another Girl Scout function and Dave celebrated his birthday.  So let's just jump right into the fun.

On Wednesday, Darci's Girl Scout troop joined the Korean Girl Scouts to help with one of their safety patrols.  We met them in New City, where we collected trash and tried to educate the public about traffic safety.  It was a very interesting experience to say the least.

The kids and I also spent some time making ornaments for the Christmas tree this week.

Saturday was Dave's birthday.  While Mitchell and Dave started the day off by golfing, Darci and I made him a birthday cake.  It is probably the ugliest cake ever, but it was made with LOTS OF LOVE!  That evening, the kids both went to sleepovers thanks to my friends, Tammy and Dawn.  Meanwhile, Dave and I had a fun evening with our friends Ron and Choi.  It was a wonderful day, even Dave thought so!
