We also got to see an old friend this week. Our friend Paul made it to Korea and is making preparations for his family to join him. I can't wait until Erin and the boys get here! We are going to have soooooo much FUN!
Saturday was the busiest for us. We went to the Cinco de Mayo celebration on Camp Casey. They had a motorcycle rally, a mariachi band, and games. Dave played a break-the-plate game and actually won 5 teddy bears. We ran into our friends from the apartment complex and had a pretty good time. It was interesting celebrating a Mexican holiday in Korea. It almost made me feel at home! The only thing I missed was margarita!

Sunday was mother/daughter day. Darci and I rode to Yongsan with our friends, Melanie and Zoey, to attend the Girl Scout Mother/Daughter Bingo function. We had a good time. I was a little worried there for a while because Darci wanted to get BINGO so badly and it was NOT happening for her. I asked her not freak out if she didn't win anything, and she promised me that she would wait UNTIL we got home to freak out. She did end up winning and getting a very cute set of earrings! Boy, was I RELIEVED. After the bingo games, we went to a very nice dinner and headed home. One of my favorite moments was when we the girls started to run and I reminded Darci that she needed to walk like a lady. She then proceeded to sashshay with her hand on her hip! I asked her what she was doing.... she replied "WALKING LIKE A LADY!"
couldn't decide which one I like the best: this one

On the way home, Melanie and I were talking about how traffic laws are different here. There are no seat belt laws or car seat laws here. And low and behold, just as we came to a red light, we look over and waving at us from the passenger window was the cutest little Korean toddler sitting on his father's lap with other kids jumping up and down in the backseat complete with a movie playing in the front seat for the driver to watch. When the light turned green, he continued to wave and hang out the window, as his mom sped away!
rest area ahead - that's one giant cup of coffee
not the greatest pic, but you get the idea

Well, it hasn't been my longest post, to date, but I hope you enjoyed it. Until next week...........
