A Country Star "In-Training", Cobwebs, and a Club

Annyeong haseyo, everyone!  Thanks for visiting us.  I know that I am day late in getting this posted, but better late than never, right?!  We had a pretty laid back week here in Dongducheon and didn't have any HUGE adventures, but I do have a few things to show you.

On Tuesday, Darci started taking guitar lessons.  I can't begin to express how truly excited she was!  Her dream, you know, is to be a country music star just like Taylor Swift.  So Monday, she began her journey to country music stardom!

one day, you will say I knew her when

We went to Darci's Girl Scout meeting on Thursday.  I think it is really amazing that she gets to participate in activities with Daisies, Brownies, Juniors, and Cadets.  We have a wonderful troop and it is going to be such a fun year.  I think Mitchell even enjoys going because he gets to hang out with the brothers!

Dave had to go down to Yongsan on Friday.  After finishing work, he made a quick trip to the BIG PX and  came back with a new family game and LOTS and LOTS of Halloween decorations.  After enjoying some good old ANGRY BIRD competition, Dave set to decorating our apartment!  And when I say decorating, I mean hanging fake spider webs from one end of the house to the other.....LITERALLY, 10 bags of the stuff!

we'll see how long that stands!

give it your best shot, Mitchell!

so it begins

now, I get to dodge spider webs, glow-in-the-dark bats, and glitter spiders for the next 2 weeks....
YAY ME!

On Saturday, Dave and I took the kids to not one, but two different festivals here in town.  The Volunteer Festival (not quite sure exactly what this one was all about) and the 14th Annual Rock Festival.  Neither was anything like what we had expected, but I did take a few pics.

cap and gowns at a volunteer festival?

this booth was doing free acupuncture

haircuts in the street

random boat

their firefighter mascot

cute!

CPR training

a recycling display

the Korean sign language alphabet

it was pretty crowded

a drum lesson

and we all know some Koreans LOVE to be "DANCING QUEENS"
i.e. check out the Gangnam Style video in my previous post

So as you can see, the volunteer festival was full of lots of RANDOM things to see and do.  And now on to the "ROCK" festival.  We did not stay long, but the kids did get to do a craft.

a quick sampling of the music

she always manages to find the art activities

I didn't know there were girl angry birds!

I think his new nickname should METICULOUS Mitchell

he did a great job

While we were down in the ville, I took a few pics because......well.... just because!

for all those HOG lovers out there

And that my friends, wraps up week 32 in Korea.  Thanks again for checking up on us and until next time......  annyeonghi geyseyo
