From Holidaze to Herbs

Merry Christmas from Korea!

I hope each and everyone of you are enjoying your family and having a wonderful holiday season.  I know that the weekly update is once again a little late.  I have had a rough week and it has been a little hard finding motivation.  I have not written as much as I usually would, but I hope you enjoy it none the less.

Although we are not home for Christmas, we have been enjoying this one and the opportunities Korea is offering us for the holidays.  On Friday, the kids and I got to go to a performance by Cirque Dreams called Holidaze.  They came to Camp Casey to perform for the soldiers and families of the area.  It was an opportunity I would not have had in the states and am grateful for it.  It was a wonderful show.  I took a lot of pics and video and have tried to include the best shots.

Darci and I were interviewed by AFN about the show
she got a LITTLE nervous ☺

On Saturday, Darci and I attended another paper folding class at Humanville.  We got to make paper Christmas trees.

we were the only Americans
its a good thing I can learn by watching

so glad she came with me

One of our family's favorite Christmas traditions is look at Christmas lights.  And although people don't decorate here like in the states, we found the next best thing right up the road.  We went to Herb Island on Sunday night to see their lights.  It was so much fun and they even had some Santa statues ☺.

love the frozen waterfall behind the trees

the only thing that disappointed me
seeing Santa's sack filled with trash

inside the greenhouse

I loved it there

beautiful poinsettias

playing on the ice covered sidewalks
the MOM in me was cringing the whole time... praying for no broken bones

she was not happy about this having just busted her butt on the ice

these ladies were performing

not a very happy Santa

LOVE this tree!

there is a fascination with Greece
I love how the ice formed around the statue on bottom

at the bakery

first time I've seen Santa hanging from a tree

and the weird thing about this picture... SANTA is wearing blue

And finally, here a couple of other pics of our Korean Christmas experience so far.
